Oh, come on already. Were swimming here. It’s the end of October, almost Halloween. I can just see the kiddos parents paddling around in little boats and pulling up to the doors of people to Trick or Treat. The rain is relentless. So many homes under water, so many rivers running over. I really feel for those people in our surrounding counties. Alot have had to leave their homes.
Nosey has delcared that he is too big to trick or treat, no problem there, Noisy however may get her chance if it dries out a bit between now and Saturday. We’ll see what happens. Anyway, Happy Wet Halloween!!!! mmwaaaa

Ok, I know, I didn’t keep good on my promise to myself to get back into writing.  I just haven’t been in the mood to.  Not that I haven’t had much to write about, just didn’t feel like writing.  But I guess that since I am not in too much of a good mood today, I guess I’ll just do this because. 

It is Sunday, Noisy is playing video games, Nosey is also in a different room.  Bud is napping after watching the Texas Rangers play.  They won this afternoon, and are doing really well this year.  Baseball has become number one priority with us again this year.  I guess that is all for now.

That is a good question, and I don’t have an answer.  I’ve been doing lots of things and doing lots of nothing.   I did go to work for a little while back in September of last year, had several bouts with depression, face pain went away around Christmas, kids have been doing good, Noisy has taken to reading like a book worm, Nosey has decided he wants to be in the military and is all about anything to do with planes.   Bud is Bud.  I guess I have just been hibernating since the spring of last year.  I miss writing and I guess I’ll try a little harder to get back to it.  For now, I have more work to do so off I go. 

It has been a long pause.  Almost a year now.  I’d almost forgotten about this place.  I didn’t realize that nothing has been written for 10 or so months.  Just started thinking earlier today it was time to get back to it.  So here I am and will write more later……

Not doing things I am supposed to be doing today, because, I just don’t want to.   It’s gray outside and a little too cold to do anything there.  All my chores are done for the day.  According to me.  I have been watching a couple of videos on YouTube.  I have found this lady who has grabbed my heart.  Such a sweetie.  If you have some time, you might check out her blog or videos.  Her name is MillieGarfield.  She is just too cool.  Thought I’d just share her with you. 

Hey Guys, I am writing this post in response to the previous post.

To Lynn, sweetie, I tend to think that when you get older a lot of changes seem to happen.  Not all at once, but the older you get the more you look back and notice them.  Seems like one day you feel so young and I mean at 35 or 39 and  in truth that is young.  Actually, 45 is still young.

 But somewhere around 40 or so, things start happening that make you wonder “where in the world did time go?”  “Why does one year meld into another??” ” Why do I feel so tired??”  “Why all of the sudden does my hip hurt?”  And “Where did all of these little aches and pains come from?”  They aren’t supposed to happen until you get old.  “What did I just say??”  And by Old, I mean 70 or 75.  I realize that old isn’t really what this is all about because, old isn’t an age. 

I think what I am trying to say is mature.  Mature is when you finally realize that there are somethings you shouldn’t be doing, and some things you should be doing.  Like instead of wanting to do something just because you WANT to doesn’t mean you should.  And be nice to other people, you don’t know how good you could feel if you are just generally nice.  So ok, some people will still be crabby, but that is ok.  Let them be crabby, at least you were nice.

I am coming to realize that there are things that I should be doing like actually spending time with my kids, enjoying life.  Not complaining that this didn’t happen or that did happen.  Letting go of the raw feelings about certain things and just “Letting it go.”  You will never get that time back that you spent doing something else, when you could have made the best of the time spent with your kids.  It’s best to think of the memories they will have and you want to be a part of their good memories not the bad ones.

I wish that I had been able to actually listen and understand what everyone told me when I was “less mature”  about “getting older”.  Certain things mean more than others and other things just really don’t matter at all.  I am getting it now.  I understand that some things actually are true.  Like when you get up in the morning, it is harder to get going, and how it takes longer to do things.  And how when you feel bad, you just really feel bad.  Not sick, but just …..UUGGHH.  But you can’t stop it, you just have to go on. 

Being mature, I guess means that you are more understanding of people, (you don’t let them really piss you off).  I have learned to allow them their own opinion, I have mine, why shouldn’t every one be able to speak their mind?  Sometimes the best thing to do is just hush and allow them the floor to speak.  Also, you really don’t let the bad things in life just sit in you and grow, you just …….grow duck feathers and let it all slide away.   There again is time spent worrying about things  you really can’t change anyway.  You can complain all you want, but more than likely nothing is going to happen to change things.  The best way to change things is to be a good example and maybe others will pick up on it, and if they don’t  ……oh well.   I know, it sounds like a load of crap, but sometimes it works.  And ……….just grow duck feathers.

Getting older, means that your body takes a 360.  You start noticing little things don’t work like they did before.  Hours are like minutes, minutes are like seconds.  Oh boy and it seems your eyes don’t want to focus, your feet hurt, and you start forgetting things.  And Menopause???  Did God really think it should happen now for me???  Ok, so maybe he did.  I just have to accept this and deal with it. 

Ok, so this is what I think, I am not a kid any more, but I am still young.  I still have alot of learning to do.  But now I am trying to remember………Why?  Loves to all of you.  From me. 

Now, I have to get going to the UUGGHHH grocery store, where I will spend about an hour and a half of my time, when I could be using it to do something else.  See what I mean??

For those of you who know me, know that I don’t get to watch too much tv.  Most of the time, I am busy during the day, and at night.  I don’t get too interested in any shows that come on every week.  But, I do have two that I really enjoy. 

Grey’s Anatomy is my favorite.  And  I really have to prepare to watch it.  Meaning, I have to get all homework done, dinner has to be a little earlier, and baths have to be taken earlier also. 

This said, the show I have to make time for is Grey’s Anatomy.  I have been a faithful fan since the very first episode.  I remember when they were showing the previews and thinking, “I have got to watch that”.  Haven’t missed an episode yet. 

The next one, I stumbled upon, and since it comes on after the kids go to bed,  I get to watch it with no interruptions.  Californication.  David Duchovny, oh my.  Enough said.  I am not quite sure why I like this show, but I do.  Maybe it’s because it doesn’t even closely resemble my own. 

So I was about to get started on chores this morning when I noticed him David D on the Regis and Kelly show.  Normally I just keep this show in the background, but I pretty much watched the whole show.   For some reason this guy really fascinates me and his life.

Today I am in a kind of funk.  Have been for a couple of weeks.  School starts in two weeks, and I am so ready.  I look back on this summer and see that it has actually been the best summer we have had in long time.  So why am I so blue?  I am already starting to miss the young ones, even though they have given me a few hundred more gray hairs.  Last night, we went to Bud’s Mom and Dad’s house for dinner.  Some of his relatives came to visit.  We had a good time and as always the food was delicious.  Everytime we go there and return, it is kind of sad to me, because I have to come back to our dirty house after being in such a beautiful place.  I realize that our house is an old house, and that no amount of cleaning will make it look even half way clean.  It needs paint, carpet and so much attention.  Since I don’t work, you would think that I could be able to get some paint on the walls or steam clean the floors.  But I can’t seem to get “into the mood”.  Also, we don’t have a lot of money and certinly no credit cards.  I need a job, but every time I bring the subject up to Bud, he pretty much lets me know, he likes me at home.  I want to be able to buy the kids nice school clothes, not Wal-Mart.  I guess, I need to get busy and get our spare room clean.  It has junk from top to bottom, that takes your breath away as you stand in the doorway you can’t enter.  We have lots we could sell at a yard sale.  But finding the energy and time is going to be a major job in itself.  But I am setting myself up for this huge chore after school starts.  I have so many plans for this place, but getting started is going to be the main focus.  My son and daughter still share a bedroom and it is time to get things going.  So for now, I am going to tough out the next couple of weeks and plan a stratagy.  Each day I will put down my plans here, and see where we end up. 

Today I woke up to some sad news.  Bud, (my guy) is a firefighter, volunteer for our small town.  So this is something I think about often, when the pager goes off and the tones are sent out across the air waves.  But you don’t think it is going to happen.  Or when you do think about it, you pray it doesn’t.  This morning, not in our county but still very close to home, a county neighboring ours lost two firemen and two others were injured in an early morning house fire.  Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of these individuals who we don’t even know their names yet.  This will be the first loss like this for this county, ever.  Please support your local volunteer fire departments, as they don’t get paid for what they do, and never fail to respond to the calls.  They do more than for our communities than we realize.  They can be true hero’s.

Today it is going to rain, in fact it is already about to rain.  The kids want to go fishing soooo badly, but me being the mom, knows we shouldn’t go fishing in the rain.  I want to go, so that they will have something fun to do.  But, I don’t want to do something I know isn’t safe.  So instead of waiting for the rain, or no rain, I look up the live weather radar for our area.  It does indeed show rain for us. Lots of rain.  So I guess this is going to be another day of bored children in the house, singing “Rain Rain, go away, come again another day”
